Ticket to attend the opening ceremony of the first Blackwall Tunnel.
Built between 1892 and 1897 it was opened by the Prince and Princess of Wales (the future King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra) on May 22nd 1897. The ticket was issued by the Vestry of All Saints Parish (Poplar Borough Council was not created until 1900). This ticket admits Edith Pass? to Poplar Recreation Ground which is quite a long way from the tunnel, presumably for a reception or refreshments.
