For Coin, Token, Banknote and Medal collectors in the Hornchurch, Romford
and Upminster area
We welcome any communications and we endeavour to respond to any coin related queries from fellow collectors.
Also, please remember to submit any interesting articles for the newsletter (The Collector) which is still being published and keeping people in touch during these isolated times, to Brian Beresford.
Where to find us?
Our
current venue is in Hornchurch at the Fairkytes Art centre, Billet Lane,
RM11 1AX. We meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 7.30 pm. On the
ground floor so there is easy access for the less agile.
Meetings.
Throughout
the year there are a series of talks on a wide range of numismatic topics,
auctions and competitions.
Newsletter.
The Society
publishes a quarterly newsletter title “The Collector” that contains reports
of meetings, interesting articles, forthcoming coin fairs and future talks.
A number of articles that have appeared in past issues can be viewed
online.
Commemorative Medallions
We have issued a number of commemorative medallions for our 25th and 40th
anniversaries, and the millennium. Some are still available and all are
mintages less than 100.
Poster Competition
Read
about the Poster Competition we won, some years ago, when £50 was offered
to the club with the most inviting poster encouraging fellow collectors
to join their local society.
Membership fees
The The annual
membership charge is £10 and at each meeting there is a charge of £2.
Overseas Membersan>
We have
several overseas members based in Europe, Canada and Australia with whom
we maintain regular correspondence. We often hear from them and they regularly
contribute articles for The Collector.
Our Local Museum
Havering
Museum tells the story of the people who have lived and worked in Havering.
The story is told through text panels, images and objects. Please visit
the museum’s web site.
