The Havering Numismatic Society was founded by Mr Fred Bonner and a committee of keen enthusiasts in 1967. This was to encourage coin and medal collecting amongst the many collectors in the area.

Where to find us?
Our current venue is in Hornchurch at the Fairkytes Art centre, Billet Lane, RM11 1AX. We meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 7.30 pm. On the ground floor so there is easy access for the less agile.

Meetings.
Throughout the year there are a series of talks on a wide range of numismatic topics, auctions and competitions.

Newsletter.
The Society publishes a quarterly newsletter title “The Collector” that contains reports of meetings, interesting articles, forthcoming coin fairs and future talks.

A number of articles that have appeared in past issues can be viewed online.

Commemorative Medallions
We have issued a number of commemorative medallions for our 25th and 40th anniversaries, and the millennium. Some are still available and all are mintages less than 100.

The The annual membership charge is £10 and at each meeting there is a charge of £2.

Overseas Membersan>
We have several overseas members based in Europe, Canada and Australia with whom we maintain regular correspondence. We often hear from them and they regularly contribute articles for The Collector.
