T. Smith Big Jug

A 6 pint jug compared with the large Thomas Smith jug, ex Dr J.W.L. Glaisher collection and now in The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, object number C.1213-1928. All images reproduced with the Museum's permission.

This jug, height 38cm (15") holds about 3 gallons. It has a label indicating it was purchased, by Dr Glaisher, in Cambridge in 1906. The intriguing inscription (see next level) indicates a gift rather than an advertising piece.
